Contemporary Mixed Media Workshop

What is mixed media? How do you use media together? In this workshop you will learn how to use inks, pens, linocut, pastels (dry and oil) paint and found objects to build up a textual art piece. In the process of putting an art piece together you will experiment with professional art supplies in a artist studio. Experiment with papers and learn how to create your own unique texture liberty.

Get some inspiration and creative company while learning some new skills. Bring a sketch of an idea or have a look thought the many art books available for inspiration.

Learn to make linocut stamps, experiment with professional art media’s (Inks, pastel, oil pastel, oil paint, acrylic paint, collage, textured paper etc Finish the day with one or more of your own finished work, ready to frame, using some of the pattern and textures you made during the day.

The day includes tea and coffee, light snack and use of the studio, with Samantha to help you with any questions you might have. Up to 4 people per session. Please bring your lunch, or pop down to the local shop for a hot lunch or roll.

Make a weekend out of it and stay in Ballarat or Geelong and visit the award winning local wineries.
