The mini quilt series is a labour of love and memory. Semi biographical, the quilts consider childhood memories and everyday occurrences. Utilising vintage 1950 -1970s linen tea towels, and reclaimed craft materials, individual occurrences and favoured quotes are tracked. Being raised a Mormon with traditional women values, contradicted the rebellious women she was often surrounded with. A homage to women’s work, with a personal connection to quilting transcending her frontier American ancestry, Samantha pieces together a strong visual language of textiles and family history.
